Flexible Guest Contributor Requests
We’ve updated our Guest Contributor Portal to make it easier than ever to engage with the expertise in your community. Now, your Success Manager can easily add unique calls-to-action within your Guest Contributor Portal, so that you can add structured forms to collect expertise within a predetermined framework. Have a particular set of questions you want to ask Alumni? Create a form, and send it to
support@gouconnect.com to have it added to your Guest Contributor Portal today!

Improved Tagging Experience for Admin
Did you ever have trouble identifying parent communities from nested child communities when tagging a piece of content? No more! We updated our tagging UI to make it easier to sort through your tags. If you’ve created sub-communities, you’ll notice that those communities appear gray, whereas regular child communities will have a small blue line to the left of the text. Happy tagging!

New content provider available in your External Blog Library!
A huge part of our mission is to build access to fresh, impactful career content straight from within your virtual career center, to help scale your work and provide support for all students. After receiving many requests for an integration with Career Shift, you can now find Career Shift blogs right within your External Blog Library to aide in your curation of quality content for students and stakeholders! Below, you can read more about the new content integration and how to access it within your dashboard, or, if you have recommendations for new content providers we should partner with, submit them via the form below!

Improved Visibility into Email Engagement
You’ve always been able to download a file that includes the names and emails of those who opened or clicked on links within your sent emails, but now, we’ve expanded that feature to also tell you their user types! Now, each export will include an extra column that denotes the ‘user type’ of each individual, to make it easier for you to see which audience groups your messaging has resonated with! For more details on how to access this new information, check out the post, below!

Improved Visibility into Email Sender Activity
To help with your content marketing planning and analysis, we’ve expanded the data included in your sent email export! Now when you export sent emails, you’ll be able to see who the sender of the email was in the exported file. View this information by navigating to Engage > Emails > Sent Emails and selecting the green Export button at the bottom of the dashboard.

New search functionality within your Labor Market Insights widget!
Previously, widgets only supported filtering by selecting industry and occupation categories, but we’ve extended functionality to include keyword search as well! You can choose to facilitate search by either method alone, or both together, depending on your preference. Keyword search will allow your users to type in any word, and see a list of related professions from across all industries. An all new external content library, bringing experiential learning content to your fingertips!

We ran with the positive feedback we received from you all on the external blog library, and extended it to our Experiences content as well! You can now access free, high quality experiential learning content from a growing list of content providers straight from the Experiences section of your dashboard. Read more below to see how you can publish this content and what it looks like to your students on the front-end!

Introduced a brand new content provider, Forage!

We’re so excited to welcome Forage as the first provider within our new experiential learning content library! Forage produces high-quality job simulations in partnership with their vast network of employer partners, which are completely free, and help students gain real-world skills and exposure to employers with the flexibility that can fit into anyone’s schedule. You now have the option to display videos as the featured content on your homepage!

We’ve added videos to the list of content types you can choose to feature on your homepage! Now, choose from videos, employers, resources, blog posts, or outcome data (if you have the Outcome Data Visualization module) as the first type of content to feature on your homepage. Change it up whenever you want something new! You can choose which content you want to feature at any time.

 

Your resource export reports now include links to the resources themselves.

For many of us, spring means spring cleaning. Within the context of uConnect, for many of you we’ve heard that this means cleaning up your resource library and ensuring that all the tools and guides are up to date and relevant for your students. To help with that, we’ve included the actual links to your resources within the exportable file, to make it easy for you to view the live resource as you work through the file and make a plan to update, keep, or delete any existing content. To view this report, navigate to Publish > Resources and then scroll to the bottom and click Export Resources. The URLs for each resource will now be visible in that report alongside the title, author, publish date, tagged communities and categories, status (published, draft, etc.), and resource type (external, or internal). Let us know if you have questions!

uConnect partnered up with Candid Career, which led to two major updates. The first is an improved viewing experience for your students!

Now, all of the specific sections of Candid Career interviews are housed in one video post, with specific buttons to skip to the parts you want to learn more about, like ‘Job Description’, ‘Loves & Challenges’, etc. This means you can easily click from one clip to another, rather than having to search for the next clip in a separate post. This new update also more closely reflects the viewing experience within Candid Career, to give your students a more familiar experience! Click the button below to read more and see examples!

We integrated with a new content provider in your external blog library!

We expanded our partnership with Forage to include blog posts in your external blog library! You can now access content from Forage straight from your External Blog Library in addition to your External Experiences library. You can read more about Forage below, or check out the blogs directly by navigating to Publish > Blogs > External Blog Library in your admin dashboard!

We’re expanded the Block editor to include resources!

This upgrade allows you to format and style your resource greater control and formatting capabilities. With this expansion, you can now use the block editor to manage your blogs, communities, and resources.  

If you don’t currently have the block editor enabled (or aren’t sure), and you’d like to enable it, reach out to us at support@gouconnect.com! It’s completely free, and included as we work to add continuously evolving value to your virtual career center.

We’ve created the ability to restrict content based on end-user profile attributes!

With this release, you’re now able to set specific visibility permissions for individual pieces of content, based on SSO authentication, or individual profile settings! Now, you can easily host all your resources – for faculty, students, and more – all within uConnect, without needing to lock your entire site behind authentication. 

We’ve expanded our Outcome Data Visualization module to include access to the iframe embed feature!

We’ve been hard at working planning a whole host of improvements to our Outcome Data Visualization tool. Part of this review has included an in depth look at the current functionality of the module, and we’re pleased to share that we’ve streamlined support for our existing embed function, and can now offer it as an included feature of the standard module, free of charge starting on October 1st!

We’ve expanded our Labor Market Insights module to include access to the iframe embed feature!

We believe in the importance of data and its power to impact career success. In addition to our Outcome Data Visualization module, you can now embed your Labor Market Insights data as well! Together, these two modules inform and inspire effective career exploration and set your students up for career success. Now, that experience can happen on any university website through the use of our iframe embed function!

You can now hide featured images from appearing on your resource landing page!

You can now choose to hide the featured image from the landing page itself, to make use of the full width of the resource page. Hiding the image from the landing page will still allow it to show in the preview of the resource within your widgets and resource library!

We expanded the Block editor to bring even more flexibility and formatting options to your platform!

We upgraded our text editing tools to utilize the highly flexible Block editor technology. This upgrade allows you to format and style your content with much more control and stylistic capability, to improve your editing experience, and to build more visually engaging posts for your students and stakeholders! Right now, you can opt in to start using this upgrade on your blog contentcustom pages, communities, and resources.

We added a new content partner, Exponent, to our external blog library!

Exponent helps job seekers land their dream tech career. Perfect for students interested in product, design, data, and engineering! You can check out the Exponent feed in your admin dashboard by logging in and navigating to Publish > Blogs > External Content Library and filtering for Exponent!

We implemented a workflow improvement to your automated alerts feature!

We released an improvement to the signup workflow for your automated alerts feature. If you already have all frequencies of automated alerts enabled, you’re unaffected by this update, but are more than welcome to read on if you’d like the additional context. 

Previously, visitors could always ‘sign up’ for daily, weekly, or monthly alerts regardless of whether they were activated or deactivated in the dashboard. (Rest assured, no one was ever sent an alert if you had them deactivated, but they could raise their hand to opt-in to them.)

Moving forward, only the alert frequencies you have activated will appear as options within the visitor sign-up process. This update was released in an effort to simplify the visitor workflow and better align with your communication strategy!
