Over 95% of uConnect university partners published content from our external blog providers last year. In talking with many of you, we heard firsthand how helpful this content was in your efforts to establish a regular cadence of high impact advice, insights, and spotlights for your students. Alongside the guides, events, jobs, videos and other key resources you centralized and curated with your virtual career center, this added content from our trusted providers helped to round out your communications’ plans to drive engagement to your platform on a frequent and consistent basis.
We’re building on this invaluable opportunity to enable you all by expanding the type of content we import to our external content library, starting with Experiences.
Why experiences?
Establishing a foundation of dynamic, experiential learning opportunities builds equitable opportunities for students to gain real world experience and exposure to top hiring employers without the constraints or logistical limitations of a traditional internship or full-time co-op. In speaking with many of you, we learned that experiential learning is an area you’d like to be more intentional about curating within your career services strategies. Consider this our formal vote of confidence, and offer of support!
How will this content be managed?
Similar to your External Blog Library, you’ll be able to access ‘External Experiences’ by logging into your dashboard, and navigating to Publish > Experiences > External Experiences from the left-hand menu.
Alternatively, if you click on Experiences from your Publish menu, you can click on External Content Library at the top of the page in green, and be directed to the same library of external content.
Like external blog content, you can search by keyword to find the experiences that are relevant to the industry or function you’re looking for. From there, you can hover over individual experiences and click on one of three options:
- External View to see the original posting on the host site
- Ignore this Item if it’s irrelevant to your stakeholders and you’d like to remove it from the list, or
- Import Content, which will redirect you to the traditional experience edit screen, where you can tag and publish the content to the intended communities on your platform.
Who are we working with to integrate experiential opportunities?
We’ll be building out this external library in the same vein as the blog library, with the goal to include multiple providers for you to choose from and with whom you can support your students. Today, we’re excited to announce a partnership with Forage to kickstart this exciting new initiative, and bring top quality vitual internships straight into your dashboard.
