Our recent accessibility improvements, explained.

As a company dedicated to providing equitable access to career support for all students, naturally, accessibility is a top priority for us. We’re continuously working on accessibility-related improvements to ensure that your platform is meaningful, useful, and valuable to all students, regardless of ability. To that end, we wanted to share the recent release of accessibility updates to help improve the usability of your platform:

  • Improved accessibility of the ‘view more’ buttons within the featured resources widget
  • Improved UX and resolved accessibility issues of the hamburger menu
  • Fixed keyboard navigation issues within the main navigation
  • Users can now open their user account menu by keyboard
  • Implemented a focus on the first item when filters are skipped
  • Prevented empty navigation elements on carousels of content
  • Implemented accessible ‘share option’ dropdown menu on content posts
  • Added a scope attribute to the table of ‘service hours’ widget
  • Expanded the communities dropdown by keyboard, instead of focus
  • Added a navigation role to the communities dropdown
  • Removed redundant alt text from avatars
  • Added the ability to open the author information popup by keyboard, instead of focus
  • Fixed the H1 tag for custom pages with header
